I hate my blog
It's boring..it's ugly!! I'm jealous of Kayla's flowers and Cara's panache. I must learn to decorate. Anyone know a place to learn?

Rewind...Update time!
Wow! Its been sooo long since I've had 10 minutes to myself to sit down and do an update. I guess we'll rewind back to the end of August.
Most of you know that Victoria had her tonsils out on the 28th. The surgeon said her nasal passages were completely blocked. He also mentioned that the enlarged tonsils and adenoids were preventing her ears from draining completely, which causes muffled hearing. The surgery was successful and she is doing better than ever. Her speech is steadily improving, although she will still need therapy to bring her up to three year old level. The weeks after her surgery were really rough. There is a side effect of general anesthesia no one warned me about-- extreme nightmares! Victoria suffered horribly. She would come out of sleep swinging, kicking and moaning. At first I assumed she was in pain and gave her more pain medication. After the second week, I called the doctor and he confirmed my suspicions, that it was anesthesia related. It would take around 20 minutes to snap her out of the nightmare. She would be awake and screaming/howling and thrashing around but couldn't respond and couldn't be calmed. Eventually she'd snap out of it, snuggle up against me (with a little scooby doo therapy) and fall back asleep, only to wake again an hour later with the same behavior. The nightmares stopped around the 3 week mark. She is doing great now but still sleeps 12 hours or so at night to make up for lost time.
Victoria returned to gymnastics last Friday. SHe made a friend in class and they quickly became partners in crime. During the coach's instructions, Victoria and Madeline (her friend) were running around the gym, flipping on the uneven bars, jumping off the beam. The classes are strictly 'no parents in the gym' so Dave and I watched from a window outside. It was killing me to sit there and watch and not go after her and make behave.
Alexandra is doing good. She is growing in length a lot but is still very willowy. She rolls over from her stomach to her back and likes to sleep on her side. She loves to be outside under the shade trees and to feel the grass on her cheek.
Dave and I are hanging in. My cavalier went to the big scrap yard in the sky last Thursday. It is in the shop now with little hope of a reasonable repair. The mechanic said that GM had this particular problem with that specific engine and the only cure is to replace the motor. Cha-ching! Its a good car, structurally, but I'm not sure its worth the money of a new engine. I need a van anyway because it is so cramped in the backseat with the 2 car seats. Dave started his job search on Friday and is hoping to hear something soon. He was already offered one position but when he applied he didn't realize quite how far the drive would be.
On life in NY-- Its nice here. There are tons of amazingly huge trees, green grass and its not sweltering. We live in town (as opposed to Queen Creek) and are enjoying only having to travel a few minutes to get to the mall, grocery store, Target, and restaurants. We actually live in the town of Greece, but its a Rochester mailing address. The house we have rented is older (1932) and definetly built in an era when people were smaller. Being of the shorter persuasion myself, I don't have many issues. Dave however, well, lets just say he has learned to DUCK in some areas. We are looking forward to buying our FINAL home here in the Rochester area.
Time for church, I will add pictures to this later!
